A few concerned citizens have questioned why Vice President Constantino Chiwenga is not in quarantine since he came back from China a few days ago.
MDC MP Miriam Mushayi questioned why the VP is back at work after visiting China which is Asia’s COVID-19 epicentre. Mushayi tweeted:
Why is Chiwenga not in quarantine yet he was in China the epicenter of COVID-19? Instead of coming up with the gazette with punitive measures where are the safety net measures 4 the vulnerable? How Is a women vendor supposed to provide for her family during the 21 days?#ZimLOC
Another MDC personality Discent Bajila writing on his Facebook said:
In other countries, a healthy person coming from high risk countries is subjected to compulsory self isolation. Elsewhere, a patient (therefore has underlying health issues) who just returned from seeking medical attention in China has been tasked with chairing National COVID-19 Taskforce. The taskforce includes, amongst others, a person who believes that COVID-19 is a divine punishment for those who imposed sanctions on the country.
Another political commentator Kelvin Mazhandu reportedly questioned why the VP was not in quarantine according to Bulawayo24 News.
VP Chiwenga returned home last week after spending 2 weeks in China where he was seeking treatment.

Only in the Republic of Zimbabwe we openly violate the global discipline of self isolation when you are in the coridors of power. We want to know as citizens if Vice president.Was Chiwenga screened of covid 19 on arrival. So in Zimbabwe is he the only capable person to lead such a taskforce? Is Chiwenga educated more than Doctors like consultant vice minister of of health Mangwiro? What is the government plan on people who require food for living during the 21 day lock down?how are they going to survive?
