The Grain Millers Association of Zimbabwe has disowned a letter circulating on social media purporting that ii instructed millers to stop delivering mealie meal in CBDs and start distributing mealie meal in residential areas only, Open Parly reports.
According to the publication, GMAZ through its spokesperson Garikai Chaunza said:
The letter circulating on social media stating that we have issued a nationwide directive to all millers to cease supplying maize meal in the CBDs is not ours, we also saw it on social media.
GMAZ has not issued such a statement and we urge the public that this letter is false and does not represent our current position.
This was after a letter supposedly leaked directing millers to distributing mealie meal in residential areas only due to an imminent shutdown that was yet to be announced by the president.
