Sakunda Holdings Receive Green Light To Upgrade And Use St Anne’s And Arundel Pvt Hospitals

Zimbabwe’s Health Minister, Dr Obadiah Moyo has revealed that Sakunda Holdings has been given permission to upgrade and use St Anne’s and Arundel private hospitals for the next six months.

The deal between Sakunda and the government will reportedly see Sakunda Holdings setting up specialised healthcare facilities, train and equip healthcare practitioners, avail equipment and medication required for effective control of Covid-19.

Dr Moyo said that the facilities mentioned above will also be expected to provide services to every Zimbabwean.

Reports suggest that Sakunda Holdings which is owned by Kuda Tagwirei, a perceived ally of President Mnangagwa, has also bought Rock Foundation Medical Centre in Mt Pleasant and is refurbishing it.

It is further alleged that the facility which has 36 beds with ventilators will be available for use by all Covid-19 patients requiring attention.

Dr Moyo’s remarks come when the common view in the street is that the Government was working on establishing special facilities for political elites in the country.

The Minister of Information, Publicity and Broadcasting Services Senator Monica Mutsvangwa who was part of the ZTN live broadcast panel however dismissed the allegations saying that the facilities will be open to everyone.
