Binga Man Released From Prison Through The Presidential Amnesty In 2018 Commits A Double Murder

A man from Binga, Themba Muleya of Sikhalala Village under Chief Dobola who was convicted for murder and was released from prison in the 2018 presidential amnesty ran amok and killed his 2 5-year-old nieces in cold blood, Sunday News reports.

A source told the publication that the 2 children had just returned home from school when their uncle picked up an axe and struck them both instantly killing them.

Said the source:

On 19 March at 5pm Vivid Muleya and Review Tshuma arrived home from Mulindi Primary School in the company of System Mudenda (7) and Andile Nyirongo (5).

They found the accused and their grandmother, Mrs Janet Munkombwe at home. The accused person armed himself with an axe and struck Vivid and Review causing their instant death.

The motive for the murder is not known. The incident was confirmed by the Matabeleland North police spokesperson Chief Inspector Siphiwe Makonese. Muleya was arrested on the scene.
