University Of Zimbabwe To Close On March 24

The University of Zimbabwe (UZ) will close on March 24 in line with a government ban on gatherings in excess of 100 people in a bid to control the spread of COVID-19.

In a statement issued on Friday, UZ Acting Director, Information and Public Relations Ndai I. Nyamakura said:

The University of Zimbabwe will close on Tuesday 24 March 2020. This is in line with the Presidential Order to ‘close all schools, colleges and universities; and allow students to go home, as part of the national preparedness plan to ensure that any outbreak of COVID-19 is controlled and minimised’.

Members of staff will continue to report for duty as usual.
