The president is set to reshuffle his cabinet soon amid reports of factionalism in the party, Zim Morning Post reports. According to a source that spoke to the publication the president reportedly wants to chop deadwood and appoint people he thinks will turnaround the ailing economy.
According to the source:
It is certain that the President (Mnangagwa) will reshuffle the cabinet this month or early April. There has been pressure from certain quarters but the president had already hinted that he will review the cabinet based on performance thus far. The Ministry of Energy Power Development has been giving him headaches and Chasi (Fortune) is likely to be relieved of his duties or reassigned.
The suspected reshuffle has reportedly caused panic in the cabinet and ministers are reportedly pointing fingers at each other accusing each other of “professional jealous”. The president reshuffled the cabinet last year and added 5 more deputy ministers to his cabinet.
