3 Suspected COVID-19 Cases At Mpilo And UBH, UBH Staff Reportedly Refused To Attend To 2 COVID-19 Suspected Cases

United Bulawayo Hospitals and Mpilo Central Hospitals reportedly received 3 suspected Coronavirus cases this week, The Chronicle reports.

One of the cases was at Mpilo hospital when a woman who said she travelled to Dubai and passed through South Africa on her way back, presented herself after exuding flu-like symptoms. She tested negative for the virus before she was discharged. She was however put on 21 days self-isolation at home.

Two other cases were reported at UBH when 2 people who had travelled to Italy presented themselves but UBH nurses reportedly refused to attend to them and called Thorngrove Infectious Diseases Hospital staff to attend to them.

However, Thorngrove Infectious Diseases Hospital which is run by the Bulawayo City Council, said they never received any cases despite a report saying the 2 COVID-19 suspected patients had to be ferried to their hospital from UBH.
