ZIFA Axes Highlanders Players From CHAN Squad

The Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA) has axed three Highlanders players from the national team squad for the African Nations Championship (CHAN).

According to sports journalist Yvonne Tendai Mangunda, Prince Dube, Ariel Sibanda and Peter Muduhwa were axed after they failed to join the Warriors camp. Mangunda wrote on Facebook:

Highlanders players Prince Dube, Ariel Sibanda and Peter Muduhwa have been axed from the Zimbabwe squad for next month’s African Nations Championship in Cameroon after they failed to join the Warriors camp.

Highlanders did not release the three players saying they will do so after Saturday’s Castle Challenge Cup against FC Platinum.

Here is the list of players confirmed by ZIFA:

Goalkeepers: Nelson Chadya, Talbert Shumba.

Defenders: Xolani Ndlovu, Qadr Amini, Frank Makarati, Partson Jaure, Liberty Chakoroma, Ian Nekati, Rapheal Muduviwa.

Midfielders: Malon Mushonga, Moses Muchenje, Devon Chafa, Trevor Mavhunga, Kelvin Madzongwe, Phenias Bamusi, Juan Mutudza, King Nadolo, Wellington Taderera, Ishmael Wadi, Valentine Kadonzvo, William Manondo, Kelvin Chibunyu, Ralph Kawondera.

Strikers: Obriel Chirinda, Stanley Ngala, Grey Kufandada.
