Global Fund To Avail $500 Million To Zimbabwe To Help Fight HIV, TB, Malaria & COVID-19

Global Fund in the next few days will avail $500 Million to Zimbabwe to help fight the global pandemic COVID-19, HIV, tuberculosis and malaria, The Herald reports.

The matter came to light at a press conference in Harare where Global Fund executive director Mr Peter Sands said:

The Global Fund has a long-standing effective partnership with Zimbabwe, which has seen the grant increasing from US$477 million currently to US$500 for the next three years. We are in the process where the specific programme submissions are being made around how the US$500 million is going to be invested,

$25 Million of the $500 Million will go towards fighting COVID-19, even though there has never been a positive case in Zimbabwe so far.
