The government is still compiling a database for people who are eligible to receive coupons to buy subsidised roller meal, a cabinet minister has said.
Speaking to Senators recently during a Question and Answer session recently, Industry and Commerce Minister Sekai Nzenza revealed that the government is adding names of people who are not on the social welfare database. She said:

We do not have coupons yet for mealie-meal, we are still compiling a database for people who deserve those coupons and these are the most vulnerable in our society.
For those who were already on social welfare database, it is not a problem but there are others who were not who should be included.
Last month the government announced that it will introduce a coupon system for roller meal targeting vulnerable members of society.
Roller meal, which is the country’s staple foodstuff, but currently in short supply, is being sold at ZWL$70 per 10kg at the subsided price.
