Nkayi Rural District Council Councillors on Thursday suspended jailed Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Zimbabwe Ndlovu accusing him of abusing council funds.
An emergency meeting that was convened on Thursday concluded that Ndlovu had failed to execute his duties and responsibilities as he sometimes redirected council resources to personal use. For instance, he is believed to have diverted some quarry stones which were meant to rehabilitate roads at Nkayi Growth Point to his house, the case which he was arrested for.
Ndlovu is also accused of abusing devolution funds and councillors’ allowances and about US$50 000 the council realised through timber royalties.
The councillors also accuse Ndlovu of unilaterally extending an auctioneer’s contract by five years without consulting council.
The suspension was confirmed by the RDC’s chair Lot Fuzane who also revealed that the meeting had appointed Muhaso in his stead.

WOW! That’s tame compared to the ‘plot/stand allocation’ corruption that takes place daily in Victoria Falls.
