President Mnangagwa: "ZANU PF Should Remain United And Disciplined, 2023 Is At Hand"

President Emmerson Mnangagwa has said that the ruling ZANU PF should remain focused on delivering the pledges it made to the electorate towards the 2018 elections.

Speaking a politburo meeting held this Wednesday in Harare, Mnangagwa said that party members must bear in mind that 2023 elections are around the corner hence the need to intensify preparations. He added:

The party cannot afford to be preoccupied with sideshows and negative noises meant to cause despondency among our membership. The party should remain united and disciplined with us as members of the politburo leading the way.

He speaks when the nation feels disillusioned after, contrary to expectations, the nation has plunged into an economic and humanitarian crisis that has seen citizens wallowing in poverty.

When Mnangagwa rose to power in 2017 following a military-assisted transition that resulted in the demise of former president Mugabe, the nation had high hopes that ED, as Mnangagwa is affectionately known, would turn around the fortunes of Zimbabweans who were already struggling to make a living.
