EFF Criticizes ZANU PF, MDC For Running Down Zim's Health Sector

The Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF), a local opposition party, has castigated both Zanu PF and MDC for allegedly destroying the country’s health infrastructure making citizens susceptible to the COVID-19.

EFF (EFF) leader Innocent Lutshutsha Gagu Ndibali said the country’s biggest political parties were silent while citizens face an imminent catastrophe. He said:

It is not surprising that Zanu PF and MDC are silent on this impending catastrophe because between them, they have destroyed all the health infrastructure needed to respond to the Coronavirus.

The MDC has destroyed the ability and capacity of local authorities they have run for the past 20 years through corruption and incompetence.

Zanu PF has failed to govern at the national level while MDC-A has in the last 20 years failed to govern at the local level.

Ndibali added that Health and Childcare Minister Obadiah Moyo should be summoned by Parliament’s Health Committee to tell the nation what plans have been put in place to prevent the outbreak of the coronavirus.

Zimbabwe has experienced two suspected cases od COVID-19, both involving individuals who had travelled from China. In both cases, the individuals tested negative of the virus.
