ZACC Ready To Pounce On Meal Mealie 'Cartel'
The Zimbabwe Anti-Corruption Commission (ZACC) said it has identified dealers responsible for selling grain and mealie-meal on the black market resulting in severe shortages of the product on the formal market.
ZACC spokesperson Commissioner John Makamure told The Sunday Mail that the culprits, some who are high-profile people, will be arrested soon. He said:
There are intense investigations currently underway. Several arrests will be made soon. It is a matter receiving utmost attention from the commission.

The government has pegged the price of subsided mealie-meal $70 for a 10kg bag, but the product is being sold for nearly double the official price.
Meanwhile, Grain Millers’ Association of Zimbabwe chairperson Tafadzwa Musarara was last week quizzed by Parliamentarians after he failed to account for US$27 million which the association received from the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe to import wheat.
