Pressure Group Accuses Jonathan Moyo Of 'Capturing' Chamisa

Citizens Under Bondage, a newly-formed pressure group, on Friday accused former cabinet minister Jonathan Moyo of “capturing” MDC leader Nelson Chamisa and causing disharmony within the opposition party.

The pressure group held a press conference on Friday at the Media Centre in Harare where it accused Moyo of interfering with the party’s operations.

Citizens Under Bondage spokespersons, Alligator Moyo and Tarengwa Madziwa said in a joint statement:

It is Jonathan Moyo who has captured Chamisa and forced him to hold crucial MDC Alliance events outside Harvest House.

There are tensions in the MDC over the control of the party by the likes of Jonathan Moyo and his local-based friend Edmund Kudzayi.

SAPES is owned by Jonathan Moyo’s friend Ibbo Mandaza who doesn’t see eye to eye with David Coltart.

PRICE (20 Principles for Reliable Inclusive and Credible Elections in Zimbabwe), is an MDC election policy document that was launched on Thursday at SAPES by Chamisa who was flanked by other MDC bigwigs.

Meanwhile, Moyo, the late former President Robert Mugabe’s nephew, Patrick Zhuwao and former Sunday Mail editor Edmund Kudzayi claim to have funded the MDC’s media campaign in 2018.
