Mzembi's Story Contradicts Jonathan Moyo's Allegations Of Plotted Coup To Remove ED

Exiled former Tourism Minister, Dr Walter Mzembi has claimed that reports that there is a coup which is being plotted against President Emmerson Mnangagwa were meant to mislead and enslave the nation.

He said that the reports were coined by the Military Intelligence Department in a bid to keep the nation hoping that Mnangagwa was going to be removed. Mzembi’s remarked:

Stories about Mnangagwa resigning, Chiwenga taking over or another coup in the making, are cooked by the MID as mental games to keep a nation hopeful about change, should be dismissed with contempt & seen as part of continuing mental slavery of a people.

His remarks come after another exiled former Cabinet Minister, Professor Jonathan Moyo had said that there was a plot by the military to dislodge Mnangagwa from power.

Mnangagwa ascended to power in 2017 following a military-assisted transition that resulted in the demise of his long-time boss and mentor, the late Robert Mugabe.

Like his predecessor, Mnangagwa is being accused of presiding over a failed economy characterised by the economic and humanitarian crisis.

There are some who do not want him to finish his first term when he has hinted that he will still be around in 2030.
