WATCH: Masses Beat Police Officer Who Was Caught Stealing
Members of the public, in the video below, beat a member of the Zimbabwe Republic Police who was allegedly caught stealing.
It is alleged that the incident happened at the TM Shop in Harare Street, Harare. Of much vitality is that the accused person is a member of the Executive arm of government, mandated to execute the law.
The incident also confirms the deeply rooted economic and humanitarian crisis in the country that has reduced professionals including police to mere beggars and in this case thieves.
This comes a few days after a school head was also caught stealing maize from a local farmer. The teacher is said to be a science teacher at a private school in Waterfalls, Harare.
Government workers have for the past twenty-four months been lamenting over the erosion of their salaries due to the soaring inflation.

They have been engaging the employer in a bid to have their salaries increased and in response, the government introduced ‘safety nets’ which workers say are insignificant given the deteriorating state of affairs.
