Jonathan Moyo To Unpack "This February Is Threatening To Replace November As The Month Of Momentous Events!" Tweet

Exiled former Zimbabwean Cabinet Minister, Professor Jonathan Moyo has said that he will this Friday explain events that happened in Zimbabwe this February.

The promised twitter thread, Moyo claims, is a follow up on his January 29 tweet which said that “this February is threatening to replace November as the month of momentous events!”

Posting on Twitter on Thursday, Moyo said that he will post a thread to unpack the tweet and developments in the country. He said:

#ThreadAlert “For keen students of Zimbabwean history, this February is threatening to replace November as the month of momentous events”. Posted 29 January 2020 Tomorrow I will post a thread for those who have watched things happen or who are wondering what happened this month!

When he posted the tweet in January, some thought that probably there were plots to dislodge president Emmerson Mnangagwa from power since the removal of former President Mugabe happened in November 2017.

November is known for many things in Zimbabwe. For instance, 14 November 1997 Zimbabwe experienced the “Black Friday”, the ‘crush’ of the Zimbabwe dollar after the disbursement of compensation for War Veterans, DRC War, Land Reform and ESAP. This resulted in hyperinflation and tumbling of the Zimbabwean dollar.
