"Like Jonathan Moyo, Mzembi And Kasukuwere Must Retreat To Other Things" Political Analysts

Political analysts have said that since the launch of Tyson Wabantu and People First political ‘projects’ by former cabinet ministers, Saviour Kasukuwere and Walter Mzembi, in that, it was clear they would eventually fail.

Both movements were launched last year and were said to be pushing for generational and leadership renewal in Zimbabwe. Commenting Kasukuwere’s project, a South African based political analyst Kelvin Mazhandu said:

The Kasukuwere baby that took social media by storm last year can now be seen as what it was initial is; a retirement home for exiled political figures who were, unfortunately, victims of the bloody November 2017 coup.

He added that Kasukuwere was mistaken to think that the popularity he gained during Mugabe’s era would work to his advantage.

These remarks were echoed by another analyst and Constitutional lawyer Shephard Dube who alleged that lack of endorsement from the Julius Malema-led Economic Freedom Fighters was a huge blow to Kasukuwere’s political fortunes.

Dube advised both Kasukuwere and Mzembi to imitate another former cabinet minister, Jonathan Moyo who has retreated to other things.

To worsen matters, the South African government recently banned individuals who are under political asylum in South Africa from participating in politics.
