Education Officials Investigate Teacher Over Satanism Accusations

There was chaos at Kamba Primary School in Triangle on Monday after parents with children enrolled at the school stormed its premises, demanding that a teacher suspected of practising satanism be transferred from the institution.

The parents have already withdrawn their children from the school for fear of the “satanist”. The district schools inspector (DSI) Petronella Nyangwe confirmed the incident but said a detailed report would be issued by the provincial education director (PED) after investigations are concluded. Said Nyangwe:

Yes, I have heard of the disturbance, but I cannot furnish you with details right now because investigations are still being carried out by our team. A detailed report will be presented to the PED in due course, so that he will be able to respond to your questions clearly.

The investigations were launched after a general hand at the school, who is also a guardian to three of the affected pupils, approached Triangle Police Station a week ago.

The general hand filed a report against the teacher after the pupils’ behaviour became weird, such as falling into a trance for more than two hours during the day and at night as well as confessing that the teacher had initiated them into satanism.
