Caps United Sets Coach Dodo 'Non-negotiable' Target

The Caps United leadership has demanded that coach Darlington Dodo delivers a top-four finish in the 2020 Castle Lager Premier Soccer League season after the club signed some of the most talented players in the country.

Caps director Nhamo Tutisani said the club will not compromise on its two demands, namely, playing entertaining football and a top-four finish. He said:

Since this is a new team, we are saying a top-four finish is fine with us, but of course, we won’t accept anything outside the top four. We don’t want to put a lot of pressure on him. If he can win the league title, that will be much better for the entire Caps family, but what is not in dispute is that we need entertainment football considering the team we have assembled.

Makepekepe were well-placed to win the league last year before performing a “Devon Loch” with just two games to go and ended up finishing behind eventual champions FC Platinum and Chicken Inn.

The Green Machine has signed the likes of Soccer Star of the Year finalist Innocent Mucheneka from Chicken Inn, former FC Platinum goalkeeper Wallace Magalane, and Ian Nyoni from Chapungu.
