Aston Villa midfielder Marvelous Nakamba has urged his teammates to have self-belief ahead of a premier league clash with Southampton on Saturday. He said:
We are focusing on Southampton now. It is a very, very important match for us.
Of course, we were gutted about Sunday but we cannot do anything about it now.
I think we did a lot of positive things. We just need to believe in ourselves and the team. I think we can come out of this.
The Villains were beaten 2-3 at home by Tottenham Hotspur, with the nature of the defeat extremely disappointing.
Villa defender Bjorn Engels allowed the ball to roll under his foot, giving Son Heung Min a clear run on goal to make it 3-2 for the Londoners deep into stoppage time.
Meanwhile, Villa, who are 17th on the log standings, are precariously placed just a point above the bottom three and a victory over the Saints will give them some breathing space as the race to avoid the chops hots up.
