Virgil van Dijk: It's Only Halftime, No Reason To Panic

Liverpool and Dutch defender Virgil van Dijk says there is no reason for the club and fans to panic following a 0-1 reverse away to Atletico Madrid in the UEFA Champions League on Tuesday evening.

Virgil took to microblogging site Twitter to express his views and said the tie is only at halftime. He wrote:

Frustrating evening in Madrid, but it’s only halftime. There is no reason for panic or negativity, our focus is back on the Premier League.

Liverpool were beaten by a Saúl Ñíguez strike in the 4th minute after the ball ricochetted off Fabinho from a corner.

The two sides meet in the return leg on March 11, at Anfield with the Reds confident of overturning the narrow deficit.

Meanwhile, Liverpool have won 25 out of 26 of their league matches. They host West Ham on Monday, 24 February at 10 pm.
