Govt Reduces Individual Farm Sizes

The government has downsized individual farm sizes to afford other Zimbabweans a chance to own land, The Herald reports,

This was revealed in a letter of notice to farmers from the Ministry of Lands which reads:

Subject to sections 5 and 6, no person shall own a farm in Natural Region One if the size of the farm exceeds 250 hectares or Natural Region Two if the size of the farm exceeds 500 hectares or Natural Region Three if the size of the farm exceeds 700 hectares or Natural Region Four if the size of the farm exceeds 1 000 hectares or Natural Region Five if the size of the farm exceeds 2 000 hectares

The letter further informed farmers to approach the ministry should they have a query. The farms in question were taken from commercial white farmers during the infamous land reform program in the early 2000s.
