15 Year Old Nikita Pearl Waligwa Who Starred As 'Gloria' In A Disney Movie Queen Of Katwe Dies

15-year-old Nikita Pearl Waligwa, who starred as ‘Gloria’ in a Disney’s movie Queen of Katwe has died, Zimbabwe voice reports. Nikita died of a brain tumour on Saturday.

The teenage star had been diagnosed with a brain tumour in 2016 and she had recovered. She was then discovered to have another tumour which eventually took her life. Nikita’s death was posted on Twitter by a Ugandan radio and TV personality Lucky Mbabazi who said:

15 year old Nikita Pearl Waligwa,who starred as ‘Gloria’, in a Disney’s movie, Queen of Katwe, is dead. Nikita succumbed to brain cancer on Saturday. Rest in peace little one.

Nikita played the role of Gloria a younger friend of the main character in Queen of Katwe which was about the extraordinary life of a local chess prodigy.
