EFF Calls For Former President To Be Taken To The Hague

South Africa’s opposition party, Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF), has amplified its call to have former President F.W. De Klerk be tried at the International Criminal Court for crimes against humanity.

EFF Commissar, Mbuyiseni Ndlozi castigated De Klerk as “an un-rehabilitated and unrepentant apartheid apologist”. Said Ndlozi:

De Klerk is an un-rehabilitated & unrepentant apartheid apologist. Apartheid was about the subjugation of African Humanity. It evolved from colonization whose existence caused a genocide against the Khoi & the San of the Cape. De Klerk’s people, the Dutch led this genocide!

A crime against humanity refers to acts that violate human rights. Apartheid qualifies as part of these acts according to Article 7 of the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court. It is in the same regime of violations such as Slavery, Extermination, Torture.

Apartheid was systematic racial oppression, where a regime defined people according to the colour of their skin, marking them out as subservience without basic human rights: freedom of speech, movement, right to life, to vote. It oppressed the “humanity” of black people.

If you agree that blacks are Human, it means you agree that they have inalienable rights to EQUALITY. Meaning, they are EQUAL TO WHITES/HUMANS. To deny them this EQUALITY as part of a system of government is to OFFEND THEIR HUMANITY. Thus, a Crime Against HUMANITY!

We must ask a crucial question: if De Klerk believes & insists that Apartheid is not a crime against humanity, then what exactly was he forgiven for by TRC?

He must be tried in the International Criminal Court for the Crime of Apartheid. OR he must be tried here in SA!
