Government Yet To Approve Harare's 2020 Budget

The City Of Harare is yet to approve Harare’s 2020 Budget, Harare mayor Herbert Gomba revealed. The mayor was responding to a Twimbo who was asking how the city was staying afloat since they were charging less than US$2 per month per household for the services provided by the council.

Mayor Gomba said:

The city is waiting for the ministry of local gvnt and the Attorney General to approve the budget for the year (2020) ..we are still using the figures announced in our last budget (2019) ,since in terms of the laws of the country ,we cannot do anything before it’s approved.

Meanwhile, the government has approved Bulawayo City council’s 2020 budget and the city has subsequently increased rates by 416%.
