Horror Crash Kills 7 As ZUPCO Bus, 2 Kombis & Honda Fit Collide

Seven people were killed while fifty-five others were injured when a Zimbabwe United Passenger Company (ZUPCO) bus, two kombis and a Honda Fit were involved in an accident just outside Kwekwe on Monday afternoon.

Six people died on the spot while one died on admission to Kwekwe Hospital. National police spokesperson Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi confirmed the accident:

I can confirm that seven people died while 55 others were injured when a Harare-bound Zupco bus was hit on its right rear wheel by an on-coming Honda Fit.

The Honda Fit, which had six occupants, rolled three times, killing three on the spot while the bus driver lost control of the bus and hit a kombi which was loading coffins on the roadside.

There was a pile-up when the kombi also hit another kombi which was parked in front with some of its occupants buying some watermelons.

Firefighters and police officers were dispatched to the scene of the accident where they rummaged through the wreckage to rescue trapped passengers.

  1. This is a classic example of poor reporting what has just happened to our reporters were these cars involved altogether or it happened separately. You give acres of space to tsenengamu. matutu stories but where there is loss of life milimetres. No eyewitness accounts of what happened no time no kilometers pegs woooo.Injured passengers are interviewed to understand what happened from different parties.
