"I'm Not A Participant Of Whatever This Is," Mawarire Distances Himself From Tsenengamu's Initiative

Pastor Evan Mawarire of the “#This Flag” campaign has distanced himself from the “Multi-Party National Youth Convention” that is slated for the 21st of this month.

The convention was first announced at a press conference by former ZANU PF Youth League Political Commissar, Godfrey Tsenegamu who said that it was meant to push for a dialogue between opposition MDC leader, Nelson Chamisa and President Emmerson Mnangagwa. Tsenengamu said that the two leaders have to meet over the corruption in the country.

Responding to a flier that indicates that he is part of the panel, Mawarire said:

Please kindly note that I am not a participant of whatever this is. Whoever has organized this has used my name and picture without my consent.

His response came after prominent journalist, Hopewell Chin’ono had said that it was crucial to know who was behind the event. He had posted on Twitter saying:

Latest Tecno Pop 8 - now available in Pindula.

The important and critical questions here are, who is behind this? Who is sponsoring this? What is their motive? I see this flier being shared without these questions being asked. I see the names of @PastorEvanLive, @TereraiSithole & @pmkwananzi Could you kindly answer this?
