ED Takes Helicopter Ride For A 60 Mile Clean-Up Campaign Trip
President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s trip to Banket for a clean-up campaign has raised eyebrows after it emerged that he used a helicopter.
The distance between Harare and Banket is about 93.8km which is approximately 60 miles and some believe that he could have used his motorcade instead of a helicopter.
One of the people who expressed concern over the move is Alex Tawanda Magaisa the former advisor to former Prime Minister Morgan Tsvangirai. Magaisa posted on Twitter and said:
Yesterday, Zimbabwe’s President Emmerson Mnangagwa took a helicopter ride on a 60 mile trip to Banket where he performed his monthly street cleaning show for the cameras. A long motorcade was waiting to serve him in the small town. He doesn’t get it. He won’t & he can’t.
Mnangagwa was last year criticised for his “fancy” lifestyle. He was allegedly hiring a private jet from the United Arab Emirates even for trips as close as Mozambique and Botswana when the country is bankrupt.

Many believe the president is reckless and selfish after his administration introduced austerity measures which are causing severe pain to the general populace.
