Zimbabwe Rugby Union Asks Parents Of Junior National Team Players To Pay US$1061 Tour Costs

Parents of junior rugby national team players were asked to sponsor their children’s Namibian tour. The matter came to light after a Twimbo tweeted a letter that notified the parents of the costs and the breakdown of the tour cost.

Mke Madoda tweeted:

If we ever needed any further evidence of Zimbabwe Rugby’s staggering incompetence, this is it. To ask parents of prospective junior national team players to part with US$1061 is immoral. ZRU is virtually selling national team spots. What happens to the boys who can’t afford?

The letter attached to Mike’s tweet reads in part:
