“Be Careful With Them, They’re Not MDC At All,” Ex-ZANU PF Member Warns Chamisa As Top MDC Official Quits

Nelson Chamisa the leader of the opposition MDC has been warned not to entirely trust former members of the ruling ZANU PF to the point of giving them top positions in the party.

These remarks come when Tracy Mutinhiri has resigned from the MDC the party she joined in 2012 following her expulsion from the ruling ZANU PF in August 2011 allegedly for defying party directives and policies. Commenting on Mutinhiri’s resignation, Cde Setfree Mafukidze, a former ZANU PF member said:

Dear @nelsonchamisa I once again tweet to you my brother, this is not an l told all of you so moment but it’s a moment to reflect on your policy on recruiting from ZANU PF or accommodating ex-ZANU PF members at high levels in the MDC. Be careful with them they are not MDC at all.

His remarks are in resonance with sentiments expressed by many conservative MDC supporters who were even unimpressed when some former MDC officials including Tendai Biti, Welshman Ncube, and Jacob Mafume returned to the party labelling ZANU PF agents.

However, some did not agree with Mafukidze’s opinion noting that people resign from establishments for different reasons and Mutinhiri’s resignation was not unusual.
