The criminal abuse of office trial for the former VP Phelekezela Mphoko was last week postponed for the 5th time, The Chronicle reports.
The trial was postponed this time to allow Mphoko’s new lawyer Advocate Thembinkosi Magwaliba to familiarise himself with the case.
After submissions from both parties, the court decided that the trial will commence on 13 February. Mphoko is accused of storming into Avondale Police station and demanding the release of 2 ZINARA employees who had been arrested on corruption charges.
