Former Warriors Coach, Mhlauri Not Impressed By Logarusic

Former Warriors and Caps United coach Charles Mhlauri is not sure if newly-appointed coach Zdravko Logarušic is the best man to take the national football team forward.

Logarušic’s appointment as substantive Warriors coach by ZIFA has stirred debate, with the majority of football fans in Zimbabwe having never heard of the Croat before his appointment.

Speaking during an interview with The Sunday Mail Sports Editor Petros Kausiyo, Mhlauri expressed concern over the Croat’s appointment. He said:

I have read that Logarusic is a pro-licensed coach, that is a perfect qualification. However, I am a little bit concerned that among some of his touted achievements is finishing third at CHAN.

With all due respect, that is lowering the bar. But what matters at the end of the day is his experience at the national team level or other better leagues in the world.
