ZIMRA Collected $23.19 Billion In 2019

ZIMRA in 2019 surpassed their target of $18.6 billion and collected $23.19 billion, Business Times reports. This was revealed by the Finance Minister who said ZIMRA employed all of its mandated methods like garnishees and tax audits to collect revenue thereby surpassing their target.

Speaking at the international customs day commemorations in Harare today,  Professor Ncube said:

I am proud to announce that ZIMRA collected a total of ZWL$23,19bn in duties and other taxes for the year ending December 31,2019 against a target of ZWL$18.6bn.  So, when I talk about surpluses, ZIMRA is at the core of it,

Meanwhile, ZIMRA has notified businesses trading in foreign currency to start remitting tax in foreign currency.
