ZimParks Ranger Found With Poaching Gear In His Home
ZRP in Vic Falls arrested a Zimbabwe Parks And Wildlife Management Ranger after they found him with 3 riffles and some wire snares which is the ammunition usually used by poachers to trap wild animals for poaching purposes, New Zimbabwe reports.
Munashe Marumisa was arrested at Zimparks’s Katombora camp after the police were tipped off about the ammunition in Marumisa’s possession.
Marumisa denied that the gear found in his possession was his in court when he said:
I don’t know anything about these rifles and wire snares and I suspect that the police planted them just for the purpose of arresting me.
Marumusa is believed to be part of a 5 member gang consisting of a police officer, a soldier and a ranger who were arrested in November 2019.
