Passport Backlog Will Be Cleared In 3 Months – Kazembe Kazembe

Home affairs Minister Kazembe Kazembe has said the passport office will clear the passport backlog in 3 months, The Herald reports.

Kazembe was speaking in Bindura during the nationwide tour of critical departments under his ministry when he said:

On the issue of passport backlogs, the Government has put in place mechanisms that will ensure that the backlog is cleared within the next three months. Give the department three months and I can assure you that by the end of March the backlog will be cleared

At some point in 2019, the backlog stood at 370 000.
