Government Avails $90 Million For Student Loans

The Government through the Higher and Tertiary Education Minister yesterday announced that it had availed ZWL $90 Million for student loans to help those in need of the student loans, The Chronicle reports.

Confirming the loan, professor Amon Murwira said:

We want all students including the poor to have access to higher education of high quality. We do not want to compromise on quality hence Government is assisting those that cannot afford to pay the fees by advancing loans to them. Education should be affordable to all students that want to enrol with our universities.

The government earlier this week put a ceiling to the fees state universities, polytechnics and teachers’ colleges could charge students.
