Schools and Examination centres are reportedly hacking the Zimbabwe Schools Examination Council’s website to prevent students from accessing results online.
Reports suggest that schools want to prevent students who owed them school fees from accessing their results until they pay their dues.
Traditionally, schools would withhold student results for fees and other things that need to be paid for but the ZIMSEC’s online portal gave students an option to view their results even when they have arrears.
Zim Price Check reports that ZIMSEC’s move prompted schools to resort to hacking.
The government ordered schools to both stop schools from barring students from writing exams and it also directed them not to withhold students’ results.
