ZIFA Committee To Meet & Deliberate On Warriors Coach Job Applications

The Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA) is set to name the Warriors substantive coach soon, with some fixtures lined up for March and April.

ZIFA Technical and Development Committee chairperson Bryton Malandule on Monday told the Daily News that the Committee is seized with the matter.

The Committee includes Malandule, Andrew Tapela, Wisdom Samba, Nelson Matongerere, Stanslous Nyachowe and Wilson Mtekede.

Malandule further disclosed that the Committee will meet this weekend to deliberate on the identity of the new coach and forward it’s recommendations to the ZIFA Board. He said:

The coach is appointed by the board but of course, we are meeting this weekend as a committee to come up with a shortlist which we will recommend to the board.

We are guided by the fact that the new technical team needs time to come and identify players they want to use and time is no longer on our side as we have fixtures coming up in March and April.

ZIFA has received applications from all over the world, with Erol Akbay from the Netherlands, Michael Weiss from Germany, and Spaniard Manuel Marque among those who have applied for the job.
