"Then Some Say I Must Resign? I’m Not," - Zimbabwe's Energy Minister
Zimbabwe’s Energy Minister, advocate Fortune Chasi has said that he is not going anywhere, at least soon, despite numerous calls for him to leave his job.
Chasi is accused of failing to deal with the power and fuel crises which have been prevalent in the country for a long period of time now.
When Chasi was appointed to the post last year, there were high hopes that he would tackle the issues considering the “splendid” job he was doing as the Deputy Minister of Transport.
Some observers warned him back then that he was being tasked to “skin a live snake” and he said, “bring it on”.
Now, some believe that the issues are too big for him and therefore he should just resign. Chasi responded to the calls saying:

His response comes when Mr Jabu Mabuza, the Chairperson and Leader of South Africa’s power utility, ESKOM, has resigned for failing to stop load-shedding.
Zimbabwe’s power situation has however slightly improved in some parts of the country since the festive season.
The power crisis is attributed to dwindling water levels at Kariba Dam and ageing equipment at Hwange Power Station.
