Bikita Masvingo has been hit by an Anthrax outbreak, Sunday News reports. According to the publication, 27 people have been diagnosed with anthrax at different clinics so far.
This was confirmed by Masvingo Department of Veterinary Services Provincial officer Dr Ernest Dzimwasha who said:
I can confirm that there is an outbreak of anthrax in Bikita and a number of people have been affected. We also have reports of cattle dying, but I am not in the office to give exact details.
3 Anthrax cases were reported in Mashonaland East last month.
