Al Ahly will be without winger Hussein El-Shahat for their CAF Champions League Group B match against Zimbabwean champions FC Platinum on Saturday.
El-Shahat is close to recovering from injury but the Egyptian side decided against risking him in the match to be played at Bulawayo’s Barbourfields Stadium.
Speaking to the club’s official website, as quoted by Ahram Online, Ahly’s assistant coach Sami Komsan said:
Both tactical and medical staff preferred not to include El-Shahat to the players travelling to Zimbabwe to give him more time to recover from his injury.
Al Ahly come into the weekend’s clash placed first on the Group B log with six points, though they are level with Al Hilal and Tunisia’s Etoile du Sahel.
FC Platinum are bottom of the log with zero points having lost all the three matches they have played this season.
