The MDC Youth Assembly said it will, next week, remember all the people who were killed on 14 January 2019 across the country.
Youth Assembly Chairperson Obey Sithole said that commemoration events will be held on the 14th of this month.
As young people, we are going to do everything within our means to remind the world that on that day crime against humanity was committed.
We will continue to demand answers on the efforts that have been made to bring the culprits to book. We are going to have commemorations across the country.
On 14 January 2019, protests broke out spontaneously across the country after President Emmerson Mnangagwa had announced a 130% fuel price hike.
Protestors barricaded roads, burnt tyres and looted shops and the government responded by deploying armed forces onto the streets, with 17 people killed, hundreds seriously injured and over 1 000 arrested according to human rights organisations.
