Poverty Datum Line Up 15.7 % - Zimstats

The poverty datum line went up 15.7% in November 2019 as a family of 5 previously needed $3 159,52 in October 2019 but needed $$3 656 in November 2019, The Chronicle reports.

Zimstats the country’s statistical agency said:

The TCPL for an average of five persons stood at $3 656,48 in November 2019.This means that an average household required that much to purchase both food and non-food items for them not to be deemed poor.

Zimbabwe has been battling socio-economic issues since late last year a situation that has been exacerbated by a drought that left half the population in need of food aid.
