Opposition Leader Calls For Unity Among Zimbabweans

New Patriotic Front president, Engineer Peter Munyanduri has said that Zimbabweans have to have unity of purpose if they want to transform the country.

Speaking to the Herald in an interview, Munyanduri said:

We are better off as a united entity and everyone should be preaching unity in 2020.

We want issues of increasing prices of basic commodities, availability of electricity and fuel as well as payment of better salaries addressed in 2020.

He added that the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe must inject more money so as to solve the cash crisis that is manifest in elongated queues at the banks.

Munyanduri speaks when there are calls from various stakeholders and analysts for president Emmerson Mnangagwa to have a dialogue with opposition MDC leader, Nelson Chamisa.

There has been a standoff between Chamisa and Mnangagwa and analysts believe that the impasse has exacerbated the socio-economic crisis in the country.
