Delta Volumes Declined An Average Of 40% In 2019's 3rd Quarter

Delta beverages reported a massive decline in volumes across all its segments in the 3 months leading to 30 September 2019, The Chronicle reports. This is mainly due to a change in consumer buying patterns hugely affected by the prevailing economic situation.

According to the publication:

Lager beer volumes declined 48 percent compared to the same period last year, sorghum beer volumes declined by 15 percent, while sparkling beverages were down 56 percent.

Speaking about the results of 2019’s third quarter Delta said:

The economy is yet to settle from the turbulence caused by transition from the multi-currency system to the Zimbabwe dollar and the accompanying policy measures in line with the Government Stabilisation Programme. The company will manage the emerging risks while striving to capture all available opportunities
