Doctors Coming Back To Work - Health Services Board

The health sector manpower situation may be a thing of the past in the new year if reports by the Health Services Board that doctors are trickling back to work are true.

According to the HSB, 194 out of 476 heeded the government’s call and came back to work, the Daily News reports. HSB CEO Ruth Kaseke said this to the publication:

Initially a total of 578 doctors were supposed to appear before the disciplinary committee but the number went down to 476 after considering some issues. The total number of doctors that have gone back to work by mid-December is now 194.

Doctors have been on strike since 3 September 2019.
