Doctors Are Lying About Coming Back To Work - Report
The Sunday News investigated the issue of doctors coming back to work and discovered that it might not be entirely true as the country’s biggest referral hospital Parirenyatwa hospital was largely deserted when their reporters got there. Harare Hospital was also reportedly not taking admissions.
The publication also spoke to a Harare Man who had taken his mother in law to Parirenyatwa who said he had been waiting with her for 3 hours without receiving any assistance despite her condition being critical.
However, Parirenyatwa’s PR Manager said Doctors were mainly responding to emergencies:
Doctors availability has generally been good during the end of year festive season. Doctors availability has been more than 80 percent for all the emergencies which presented to the hospital during that period
HSB has also said Doctors are trickling back to work.
