Firearm Thieving Soldier Absconds Court, Warrant Of Arrest Issued

Moketsi Ndlovu, a 27-year-old intern soldier stationed a 2 Mechanised Batallion, Inkomo Barracks in Harare has been issued with a warrant of arrest after he absconded his court session this Friday.

Ndlovu who is being accused of stealing firearms from his father’s security company with the intention of committing an armed robbery crime with his friends was granted ZWL$500 bail when he initially appeared in court on Monday.

Bulawayo Provincial Magistrate Tinashe Tashaya postponed the matter to January 2, 2020.

The State alleges that Ndlovu and his accomplices forged a plan to commit armed robbery on Dorah Zivengwa at her house in Nkulumane after Ndlovu had supplied information that there was money at her house.

Ndlovu then proceeded to steal firearms from his father’s company with the intention of using them in the planned armed robbery.

The accused were intercepted and arrested by detectives who had been informed about the planned mission and the firearms were recovered.
